Ergonomic and Cognitive Analysis of a Mine Detector

TUBİTAK-MAM and HES A.Ş. | 2004

The mine detector prototype was evaluated to define the physical qualities and to improve the interface. In the first phase, the biomechanical and ergonomic analysis of the product was made in collaboration with METU Medical Center. The product was evaluated with computer-based ergonomic evaluation programs as well as with the real-context tests with users. In the second phase, design recommendations were developed based on the evaluations on the visibility of the interface during mine detection, the placement of controls in terms of hand ergonomics, the cognitive load and usability problems.
